After an increase of worrisome incidents between city staff and members of the public, Thorold city council is eying a new code of conduct policy regarding members of the public.
At the council meeting on March 2, councillors reviewed a code of conduct that outlined how the city plans to deal with threats, harassment, bullyingThose who would get AstraZeneca vaccines from Monday include medical workers and people in long-term care facilities, use of inappropriate language or behaviour by members of the public toward city staff.
“The city of Thorold will not tolerate for any reason, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour in any form including on social media against staff while they are performing their regular job duties in the community,” reads the policy.
